The Technology Solutions Unit (TSU) within Freddie Mac Operations and Technology (FMOT) focuses on buy-and-integrate philosophy to improve the delivery of new systems capabilities while reducing initiative costs. The TSU, based out of Schaumburg, IL, is aligned within business information services (BIS) organizations to maintain continuity with business and provides BIS organizations with additional delivery capacity. TSU prides in timely and cost effective delivery by focusing on Quality and utilizing industry best practices. TSU is expected to be 300 employees strong by the end of 2007.
This position is a unique opportunity for the right individual to get in on the ground floor of a new team being formed in Schaumburg to work with the CheckFree Recon Plus Frontier application and develop corporate expertise on this tool. This individual will be responsible for configuring the CheckFree tool for the Automated Reconciliation team. From a documented reconciliation design, this person will be responsible for reviewing and understanding the configuration design, updating design documentation, configuring the tool, unit testing the configuration, and training others on the details of the configuration.
Responsibilities:
•Reviewing existing business process documentation and artifacts for the data necessary to complete each reconciliation.
•From this data, reverse engineer the artifacts to identify and document the source systems, databases tables columns and selection criteria.
•Work with fellow team members to educate them on the data and data anomalies, address their questions and research and document answers.
•Work closely with data quality areas across the company to promote and improve the corporation’s data quality.
•Lead data research working with BPS/OTS areas when appropriate and document results of their research.
•Provide full life cycle support to new processes and systems to meet the needs of strategic initiatives, and integrate these processes and systems into existing applications.
•Utilize technical skills to design develop and test technical solutions to business problems.
•Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers and consultants to ensure all ADRM standards and procedures are met for a variety of complex applications.
•Provide senior level analytical and problem solving skills when addressing and resolving issues, assessing possible systems impacts, and recommending technical solutions
Experience/Skills Required:
•Bachelor degree in Computer Science, a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired; five years of relevant experience; and specialized training or certification in appropriate technologies (Web Development, Lotus Notes, Java, plus Sybase, DBMS, Internet, SQL, etc.)
•Minimum of 5 - 10 years experience in applications development, data analysis, database design/development and/or equivalent industry experience.
•Web Methods/Web Services (such as SOAP) experience a PLUS
•Database experience – Oracle
•Experience working with VLDB
•SQL experience a must
•Sun Java Developer a must, certification a plus
•Unix Shell Scripting is a must.
•CheckFree Recon Plus Frontier COTS application a PLUS
•Knowledge of mortgage securities and/or accounting industry experience is extremely helpful.
•Knowledge of accounting reconciliations, business operations and technology development are helpful.
•Individual should be able to quickly understand and gain knowledge of the business areas for which they are researching and documenting data.
•Exceptional communication skills a must
•Experience interfacing with geographically dispersed teams
•Ability to work in a team – size of 10
•Experience working for large organizations and on large scale projects
