Lead Java Developer

Purpose: TEKsystems is looking for a Senior/Lead Java Developer for a large Financial corporation in Salt Lake City

Position Name:
Senior Java Developer/Project lead

Position Description:
1. Responsible for the development and support for business application software for our customer assistance application team.
2. Involved in all phases of the product life cycle, coordination of technical development tasks.
3. Works with application development teams and business clients to identify and specify the complex business requirements. Work with BT Architecture group to identify and develop solutions that follow the DFS architecture design standards.
4. Perform analysis, system design, coding, documentation, testing, and implementation. Have the appropriate technical knowledge and hands on
skills with OOAD, J2EE design techniques, and Websphere application implementation.
5. Assists in planning, organizing and controlling the activities of the development life cycle.
6. Acts as a project leader of staff in all phases of the development process (including mentoring junior level developers).

1) The business objective is to support the collections business area. There isn't a specific project that this candidate will be leading at the moment. We are looking for a lead developer to mentor more junior developers and lead business projects that are enhancements to an existing front end user application to support business needs. Additionally, there is a project on the horizon to expand the application internationally, so any internationalization experience would be a plus.

2) The application is currently written as a JAVA Swing application.


3) Disqualifications:
- Lack of design experience (need at least 5+ yrs JAVA & J2EE experience)
- Lack of project lead experience
- Lack of WSAD experience (4 or above )
