REQUIREMENTS
At the moment, we are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to own the Mail Interface tier (IMAP, SMTP) for our suite of web communication applications inckuding mail, address book, calendar and instant messaging. This is a high visbility, high impact position and a unique opportunity to work on AOL's flagship web application.

Ideal candidate should be self-motivated, able to independant research and development and contribute in a team environment. You must be a practioner of software development best practices - including writing clean, maintainable and robust code. Also need to have good written and verbal communication skills are a must.

Requirements:

CS or CE degree

Significant server-side programming with C++, C# or Java

Extensive hands-on experience with Mail protocols such as IMAP and SMTP

Excellent understanding and experience of networking protocols incuding TCP/IP, HTTP

Hands on experience with the architecture and design of a complex application fielding high levels of production traffic much preferred.
