Job Description:
Position Purpose
The Lead Developer has expert knowledge in one or more web programming languages and databases. Excellent understanding of the entire project life cycle. Ability to guide and direct project teams in the requirements gathering
design, and development of complex applications/programs.
Must present ideas to review boards. The Lead Developer must work closely with architects to ensure proper system design.
Ensures highest quality implementations from design through QA to production. Assists multiple team members and other project leads in the day-to-day activities related to project work. Must be able to anticipate hardware and software design needs.
The Lead Developer must have the ability to view packages and products to determine their viability within the solution being considered, or if they would be a good solution in other areas.


Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

View software packages products and defines, prioritize, plan and implement solutions across multiple complex projects.

Ensure the team comprehends and applies the established processes, policies, standards and procedures.

Provide status reports to Manager and review boards on complex development projects.

Guide and direct project teams in the requirements gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs.

Ensure compliance and conduct appropriate test reviews as necessary.

Nature and Scope
Typically reports to Manager, Information Technology.
No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the technical leadership of a project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide technical training, provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project performance.


Environmental Job Requirements
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.


Physical Job Requirements
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.


Preferred Qualifications

Experience implementing, enhancing and maintain eCommerce technologies is highly desired.

Strong technical leadership and communication skills are highly preferred.

Strong experience using web based technologies such as JAVA, J2EE, VB, .NET, XML, WEBSPHERE and WEB SERVICES.

Experience implementing and or modifying 3rd party web-based software.

Design and implementing relational database structures using SQL, DB2 and others.

The ability to perform both technical and functional needs analysis.

The ability to write and maintain detailed technical documentation.

Experience evaluating make-vs-buy opportunities.

Experience working with cross-functional and geographically disbursed teams.

Experience working within global and enterprise environments is desirable.

Strong customer focus.

Strong team player with initiative and strong problem solving skills. Must be able to work closely and effectively in team environment and have the ability to work independently.

Must possess strong analytical and organizational skills.

Self-motivated and volunteers in critical timeframes to reach and exceed QA team goals as required.

Ability to multi-task and work in a rapidly growing fast paced atmosphere.

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.


Minimum Qualifications
Must be eighteen years of age or older

Must pass the Drug Test

Must pass the Background Check

Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable.


Education Required
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.
