Develops cost-effective information technology solutions by creating new and modifying existing software applications. Coordinates with users to determine requirements. Codes, tests, debugs documents and implements complex software applications. Functions as technical lead and acts as liaison between business units. Provides training and direction to team members.
The position is on the Technical/Professional ladder at level 4 in the Applications Development discipline.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Operations Technology team is growing to support a rapidly expanding product and technology portfolio. We install, integrate, and support technologies used by internal and external customers to capture, archive, and deliver image based payment solutions. This team has successfully implemented solutions for Check Image Capture, an Enterprise Image Archive, Check Image Exchange, and image-based Returns and Exceptions processing. Future projects will significantly expand these capabilities, while adding an additional solution for Branch Image Capture.
This position will be instrumental in the install, integration, and support, of the bank’s Check Image Capture solutions of Image Proof of Deposit, and Transaction Manager. The successful candidate will seize this opportunity to become a technical expert in Transaction Manager and Image Proof of Deposit, including detailed knowledge of the applications, and its operating environment. The incumbent will be involved in management of all required security patches, system updates, and maintain strict adherence to Fifth Third policies on change and problem management.
Qualified applicants must have a minimum of 2-5 yrs previous experience installing, integrating, and supporting enterprise level, server based applications. Experience utilizing remote support and deployment tools in a commercial banking or service bureau environment is preferable. In addition, the applicant will monitor and maintain system performance metrics and work to continuously improve our customer’s operating experience including system uptime, response time, scalability, and recoverability. Job RequirementsMINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Undergraduate degree in computer-related field, with 6-8 years of experience.Knowledge/Skills:
Support experience with Windows 2000 / 2003 Server operating system application deployment and management.
Experience providing client/partner technical support.
Experience with technical project management (Project plans and/or Project Server).
Experience working in a Production support environment.
Distributed application support experience with one or all of the following disciplines: Client Server, Thin Client, SQL database applications, IBM/NCR Check Sorters.IBM mainframe (JCL/COBOL, etc) experience a plus.
Item Processing or Check Processing experience a plus.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Demonstrated ability to learn new skills independently.
Demonstrated experience as a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP/MSCA/MCSE/MCSD/MCDBA) is a plus. E.O.E., M/F/D/V
