Junior XML Developer

MSD is an employee-owned company of over 600 professionals who support the diverse technical, scientific, and administrative needs of the Federal government. We are currently searching for an experienced Document Processing Technician to support one of our clients at the National Institutes of Health. This opportunity is permanent, full-time, and on site in Washington, DC.

As an XML Developer, you will be part of the team responsible for the design and implementation of a XML & SGML based electronic authoring and publishing applications. Our goal is to build a scaleable XML authoring and publishing framework and technology platform based on open standards and best of breed technologies. You will be responsible for implementing applications based on the architectural and design artifacts developed by the team lead and customer. Additionally, you will interface with user departments to gather and clarify requirements, develop, test and deploy code for production.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates will possess at least 5 years of IT experience.
Candidates must possess the following knowledge and skills:
* A minimum of 2 years experience in manipulating XML data using standards based APIs such as DOM or SAX
* Experience with transformation technologies including XSLT
* Knowledge of Web publishing technologies including both client-and server-side dynamic content including JavaScript, Servlets, and basic HTML
* Familiarity with object-oriented design & programming.
