Junior IT Technologist / Developer
Threespot IT Technologists/Developers have two main responsibilities. First and foremost, they work directly with the Technical Director to ensure the health, uptime, and stable performance of Threespot's technical infrastructure, including Mac and Windows-based desktops, Linux and Windows servers, and VOIP-based phone systems. Their primary role is to react quickly to emergent technical situations (server downtime, bandwidth issues, service availability, desktop crises, etc.), as well as plan IT support and maintenance to proactively avoid technology crises (backup management, desktop and server OS and application patches, performance monitoring, etc.).

•Must have 1-3 years experience supporting Microsoft desktop and server technologies.
•Must have 1-3 years experience supporting Linux server technologies
•Must have 1-3 years experience supporting Mac OS desktop and laptop computers
•Must have working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft networking and Windows 2000/2003 Server, MS Exchange Server 2003, ActiveDirectory, TCP/IP, and server hardware setup and administration.
•Must have experience with printers, faxes, scanners, various other peripherals typical to a design agency, and remote access solutions (VPN).
•Must have experience working with routers, managed switches, and WAN hardware.
•Must have proven user IT support /customer service and communication skills.
•Must possess a mid-level knowledge of database design and have some experience developing against at least one of the following database servers: Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL or Oracle.
•Must have a strong familiarity with application architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies/frameworks.
•Must be self-motivated, positive, and able to focus on delivering high-quality and timely results for projects or assignments.
•MCP, MCSE or other MS certification is a plus.
Responsibilities
•Coordinates with Technical Director to develop a consistent means of monitoring overall health and performance of technical infrastructure.
•Addresses daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance issues related to desktop computers, servers, and telephony.
•Maintains availability off-hours (evenings and weekends, infrequently) to manage and perform upgrades, updates, patches, and other services requiring system downtime.
•Produces clean, error-free and well-documented technical solutions.
•Acts as a development resource on projects under a Senior Software Engineer.
•Acts as a sole development resource responsible for application design and/or development on small projects.
