JD Edwards Specialist
Purpose: Our client is currently looking for a senior-level JD Edwards programmer. The client is a fortune 500 organization located in the Pittsburgh area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the support, maintenance and development of enhancements for the JD Edwards suite of applications. This person is responsible for the analysis, design and documentation of software and technology solutions to meet business needs, and for testing any resulting custom development. The position will create procedures and policies for the proper use of implemented solutions. This position may assist in training users and other IS employees in the use of new or custom system processes/reports. This position is the expert on JD Edwards accounting functionality ? general ledger, accounts payable, sales tax, cash application, fixed assets, accounts receivable/credit and collections and cost accounting.
Job Functions and Requirements
-Coordinate the J.D.Edwards system conversions/upgrades with managers/supervisors of functional areas
-Prepare all documentation required for projects (i.e. process flows, modification requests, report requests, timelines, status reports, procedures, etc.)
-Responsible for testing all proposed system modifications from accounting perspective
-Investigate post-conversion problems and initiate solutions
-Serve as contact for problems with functionality of J.D.Edwards software
-Research user requests for proposed uses of the J.D.Edwards system
-Initiate proposals for procedural changes to increase efficient use of the software
-Develop system solutions for specific analytical requirements
-Work closely with both the functional and technical teams to understand business processes and translate functional specifications into technical specifications
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Educational/Professional
-Bachelor's degree or higher, with major or minor area of concentration in accounting or accounting information systems (or real-world equivalent)
-3+ years experience
Technical
-Experience with J.D. Edwards software
-Knowledge of Visual C++ and/or SQL /DB2
-AS/400 RPG and associated database tools
-Familiarity with VB6, .net, and Java a plus
-Excellent knowledge of PC and operating system operation
-Excellent skill level using common MS office tools
Other
-Desire to utilize accounting skills to improve/maintain an efficient accounting software system
-Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
-Analytical and problem-solving skills
-Ability to demonstrate taking ownership and showing leadership
-Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment
-Other related certifications are a plus
-Self motivated, ability to work with little definition and without supervision while multi-tasking across a number of projects and initiatives
The duration of the position is very long-term. The client would like to convert the candidate from a consultant to a full-time employee after 6 months.
The position will most likely be a contract-to-hire scenario. The individual will be employed with TEKsystems for at least 6 months and then have the option to join directly after 6 months.
The expected compensation for the position is 85,000-90,000 full-time. There is an additional 15% bonus compensated as well.Classification:Contract-to-HireCompensation:
