J2ee Software Engineer

Purpose: TEKsystems is looking for a Software Engineer for a client in Germantown, Maryland. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for performing software development activities as part of the team developing the Network Management Software. They will be responsible for architect/develop components of our framework which is based on the Oracle Application Server. This work will also involve ramping up on, enhancing and maintaining the existing components of the framework. Also responsible for completing software features and other assigned project deliverables with a high level of quality, using best practices and techniques and in line with project schedules. This position is a direct placement position.

Required skills
Experience with J2EE 1.4
Knowledge of J2EE patterns
Experience with architect / designing enterprise scale applications
Experience with load balancing and fail over clusters
Experience with Oracle 10g (preferred) or Oracle 9i Application server (strongly desired)
Good communication skills
Excellent troubleshooting skills

Desired skills
Experience with jUnit, ant, eclipse, *nix (preferably linux)
Experience with implementing security for enterprise applications (strongly desired)
Experience with Web services
Experience with designing / implementing large database applications
Experience with JDBC
Experience with one or more Java persistence mechanisms such as EJB, JDO, Hibernate
Experience with Oracle database
Experience with developing Network Management Systems
