Installation Specialist

The company's products address the wireless computing requirements of a rapidly changing public sector market and support the end-to-end delivery of e-government access to citizens.

Individual must possess technical and analytical skills in installing hardware components and application software on servers and workstations. Responsibilities will also include the support of customers in the installation, configuration, training, and problem-resolution regarding SunGard HTE proprietary systems. Work is monitored and reviewed through conferences, reports, and results attained. Install or stage hardware and software. Train system administrators and end users on SunGard HTE software. Travel to client sites and installs servers and/or workstations. Provide support to internal development staff as needed for testing or other development issues. Provide telephone support for customers. Perform related work as required. Position requires 100% travel.
REQUIREMENTS
-Associates Degree with five years work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Industry experience with public safety data systems.
-In-depth knowledge of SunGard HTE applications.
-Must be willing to travel 100% of the time.
- Knowledge of the operating characteristics, capabilities, and limitation of midrange, mainframe, networking, microcomputers, and various OS and applications software.
- Knowledge of hardware and software installation procedures. Knowledge of SQL Server, Windows 2000/2003 Server.
-Knowledge of Global Positioning Systems and GIS Mapping is a plus.
- Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions, and to present oral and written reports clearly and concisely.
- Strong training and presentation skills.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors, and representatives of other departments.
- Ability to plan work and work independently.
- Ability to develop training classes and teach the use of microcomputers and software to customers.
