Knowledge of areas of governance (e.g., risk management, data classification management, network security and system access)
Knowledge of the relationship between information security and business operations
Knowledge of SAS 70 process regarding information security of vendors
Knowledge of Privacy Laws as they apply to information security (GLBA, Security Breach Laws)
Technical proficiency in security related hardware and software
Familiarity in auditing frameworks like COBIT, COSO and ISO
Demonstrated knowledge of the components of a comprehensive information security program
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of information security industry trends and emerging technologies, and an ability to relate them to the company and its objectives
Demonstrated experience with security technologies and architecture, including encryption, network security, firewall configuration, vulnerability management (including testing, scanning, and patching), and intrusion detection
Experience with risk assessment and mitigation processes
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement information security policies, procedures, standards, and practices
Familiarity with multi-platform environments and their operational/security considerations
Knowledge of information security process improvements and its relationship to traditional process management
Demonstrated organization, planning and project management skills
Demonstrated problem solving, analytical, negotiation and evaluation skills
Demonstrated verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsESSENTIAL DUTIES:Develops information security standards, procedures, and guidelines specific to the Company.
Prioritizes information security activities and initiatives based on level of risk and exposures with appropriate level of corporate management.
Manages the prevention, detection, response to, and reporting on security breaches and attempts.
Ensures alignment of information security and business objectives.
Ensures compliance with applicable laws related to information security and privacy.
Provides technical expertise and guides the administration security tools that control and monitor information security, including updating access control tables, establishing user logon ID’s, assigning/resetting passwords, and designing computer system access reports to identify possible security violations.
Supports Information Systems (I/S) disaster recovery and business continuity plans, processes, and procedures.
Researches, evaluates, designs, tests, recommends, and plans implementation of new or improved information security software and devices, safeguards and solutions that will ensure proprietary/confidential data and systems are protected.
Provides education and awareness on information security issues and new best practices.
Develops and maintains effective working relationships with executive and business unit management.
