IT Project Manager
Programming, Planning and Schematic Design Phase
a. Assess the needs and identify specifications for all cable requirements (infrastructure and internal assesses), VoIP, wireless requirements.
Identify and interview project team and clarify responsibilities and expectations for deliverables. Become familiar with building requirements; re: use of riser closets if pulling between floors.
Present requirements, discoveries and recommendations for wiring closets, computer rooms, data centers, conduit, etc.
Provider expertise in making recommendations regarding creation and value engineering of budget relating to technology infrastructure and teledata rooms.
Attend planning and project meetings.
Design Development Phase
a. Provide fluid specifications and recommendations for carrying out integrated design development including electrical, mechanical, VoIP, Telecommunications, Voice/Data, equipment racks, cable management, heating and cooling management and architectural requirements.
Construction Document Phase
a. Document review and value engineering
Bid and Contract Negotiations, Economies of Scale, and Best Practices
a. Provide knowledge and expertise in short listing and interviewing a list of pre-qualified service providers.
b. Expertise in recommending best in class performance in AV and Security research and recommendation
c. Cost Estimating accounting Analysis
Construction Administration
a. On-site project management and spearhead all project meetings
b. Minute notes
c. Troubleshoot issues and resolve conflict
d. Review and approve all submittals
e. Respond to RFP's / RFI's
f. Including Weekends
Engineering Management
Represent Client on all Engineering Management responsibilities surrounding IT and related projects
• Value Engineering is performed throughout entire project process
• Maintain Integrity of Data Center
• Maintain Visio diagram of entire Data Center with hyperlink to cabinet excel spreadsheets
• Maintain cabinet excel spreadsheets that show the following:
o all equipment in the cabinet
o server model numbers and ID tags
o electrical circuits that power these cabinets
o the PDUs and RDCs that these electrical circuits derive from all ampacity reading of the circuits that feed the cabinet (updated monthly)
o additional space available
o the number of receptacles available in each cabinet
• Maintain separate excel spreadsheets of each PDUs ampacity readings (updated monthly)
• Asset tagging of all equipment
• Labeling of all infrastructure cabling
• Assist and supervise Engineering with all equipment installations
• Assist and supervise Engineering with all cabling installations are done by Engineering
• Provide three daily documented visual inspections of the environment including electrical and mechanical checks (daily rounds)
• Conduct weekly visual inspections of each cabinets cooling vents in each cabinet
• Assist and supervise the installation of all new cabinets
• Assist and supervise the installation of all underfloor power associated with Client areas
• Company will assist and supervise compliance of Install /
Remove Server Procedures
Assessment of skills & IT knowledge (Internal and External Requirements) a plus, including:
a. Internal company IT Manager Administer in-house file server and exchange server (exchange server is small
business 2003)
ii. Manage any and all adds, moves and changes internally
iii. Point of contact for all related IT issues (such as; software upgrades, computer purchases, operating system upgrades, license maintenance, anti-virus)
iv. Managing and overseeing all company outsourced IT service providers (such as current outsourced service administrator to be transferred to in-house IT representative, i.e. you and ISP service provider, PM Software manager, etc.)
v. Act as internal Help desk manager
vi. Spearhead and implement any and all new applications such as internal new sever systems, web hosting, proprietary software, etc.
Project Management Function (Internal and External) a plus
i. We would see this position as the liaison to handle any and all client projects from internal design phase through construction which may include on-site project management through completion. Some items such as the following:
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree or equivalent, plus a minimum of 10 years IT related project management
- Excellent leadership, oral and written communication, planning, decision making, and negotiation skills
- Must be able to work with people at all levels, including outside consultants and vendors, and be able to influence others without formal authority
- Must be able to build and maintain relationships and facilitate collaboration and communication.
- Must be results oriented and able to adapt and deal with ambiguous situations and manage expectations
- Must be able to adapt to different corporate environments and cultures professionally
- Must have advanced computer experience: MS Office 2003 (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), Microsoft Projects,
- Must have a valid driver license, own transportation and insurance
- Geographic flexibility within tri-state area a must for various meetings
