IT Procurement Contract Specialist

Volt Technical Resources is looking for an IT Procurement/Contract Specialist to process requests for procurement of desktop, laptop, server, network, and telecommunications hardware, software, and related services. Initial responsibility will be to complete renewal of maintenance and support agreements, and will expand to include procurement of technology products and services. Other procurement functions include researching products, verify and/or develop specifications, issue requests for quotations and evaluate responses. Award and issue purchase orders, document purchase activity. Work with technology staff and vendors to provide procurement information or resolve issue, track delivers, issue change orders, verify invoices, and electronically archive procurement documents. Requirements:

Three or more years progressively responsible relevant work experience procuring desktop, laptop, server, network and telecommunications hardware, software, and related services for an organization with a diverse information technology environment.Knowledge: Commonly used procurement principles, practices, and procedures. Current/emerging technologies and trends for desktop, laptop, server, network, and telecommunications hardware, software, and related services. Commonly used software license, maintenance, and support agreement terms and conditions.Must be organized, prioritize and complete work assignment to accommodate procurement time-lines that can change unexpectedly. Deal tactfully with requestors and vendors to resolve problems and issues. Research products and services; develop technical specifications. Develop request for quotations and complete technical and pricing evaluation of responses. Negotiate with vendors to change unfavorable license, maintenance, and support agreement terms and conditions. Use desktop and computer software applications such as SAP, Microsoft Word and Excel to complete procurements.
