IT Positions
SC TECHNICAL COLLEGE SYSTEM
A statewide system which includes sixteen technical colleges and a Center for Accelerated Technology Training (CATT) is advertising for the following positions at its System Office:
IT Manager- Applications and Reporting Services
Manages the Applications and Reporting Services units. Responsible for planning, implementation and management of complex web-based custom computer management information systems and customer support services in a diverse set of platforms and computing environments. Responsible for all cyclical and ad hoc reporting data management for the SC Technical College System (SCTCS). Prefer: Strong supervisory skills. Experience with structured Project Management and Software Development methodologies. Experience with Microsoft server and desktop products; Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, .NET, Visual Studio, C, C++, HTML, Access and other such development tools; Knowledge of DBMS, concepts, structures, design methodology, operating systems and security.
IT Manager - Network and Communications Services
Manages the Network and Communications unit. Responsible for planning, implementing and administration/maintenance of the agency/system LAN/WAN, computer hardware and software, peripherals, network and telecommunications hardware and software. Prefer: Strong supervisory skills. Experience with structured Project Management methodologies. MCSE preferred. Knowledge of advanced network and server design; Network administration practices and procedures; microcomputer and network hardware and software; WAN administration, Video over IP and Voice over IP. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft server and desktop products.
Web Administrator
Serves as the primary Web Administrator. Participates in, sometimes leading the development and support of Share Point Portal and other Web functionalities at all levels of implementation as necessary. Consults with management, staff and colleges and assists with needs assessments, solution strategies and responds to customer support requests. Installs, configures tests, maintains tunes, administers, documents, and resolves problems on personal computers, file servers, peripherals, network and communications hardware, network and personal computer software, as necessary in the Web administrator role. Prefer: MCSE or advanced knowledge of LAN/WAN, microcomputer and network hardware and software; Experience with Microsoft server and desktop products; Experience with Microsoft Share Point Portal, SQL Server, .NET, Visual Studio, C, C++, HTML, Access and other such web development related tools.
All positions above work closely with the 16 technical colleges to assist with effective ITsolutions and the development and administration of SCTCS Information Technology, plans, best practices, standards, policies and procedures. They also require: Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work and communicate effectively, oral and in writing, are required for interaction at all levels with System Office and Technical College management, staff members, users, external developers, and vendors.
