The IT Business Analysis Manager translates strategic business goals into
operational strategies
and work plans. Works with sponsors and other stakeholders outside the
function to achieve cross-functional goals. Applies advanced and comprehensive
functional knowledge to resolve complex issues. Develops and implements
changes to processes. Leads projects or initiatives which impact a
function, office, region/cluster and may have responsibility for decisions that
may affect them. Regularly interacts with HR leadership (HRSSC) management.Primary Responsibilities of this role may include:
IT Applications Analyst Manager Participate in requirements gathering, project definition, analysis and scoping activities associated with a new application project or release. Provide insight to the project teams in terms of the current and planned business environment/strategy & requirements Provide consultation to project leadership on dependencies, gaps, and overlaps between business requirements. Serve as the organizational liaison with the user community. Provide support to the user team in terms of best ways to use the application to address business needs and/or how to manage specific situations/exceptions
within the boundaries of the system. Provide functional support to normal operation of the system as well as troubleshooting activities to production issues and problems Participate in the development of the criteria, scenarios, and scripts for user acceptance testing (ensuring that what is delivered matches what was
required and scoped). Participate in scope management activities to help translate user requirements into components of a future product release. Participate in the development/adaptation of Service Level Agreements for future product releases. Particiapte in the transition planning and plan execution activities for future product
releases.Education and Other Typical Requirements
Progressive Business Consulting experience in a Services industry firm with an
emphasis on application functional operations (i.e. managing customer
relationships, managing expectations, problem analysis, determining alternative
solutions and their impact on the customer, etc.).
PeopleSoft application implementation, maintenance and operation experience
Detailed knowledge of the functional aspects of the PeopleSoft application, and
strong knowledge of technical aspects of the application.
Knowledge of process flow regarding project implementations/enhancements
Experience with complex, integrated implementation projects.
Experienced at handling politically sensitive issues and situations.
Strong diagnostic skills
Strong communication and organizational skills; multi-tasking and time
management skills are essential
Cross-functional business and application knowledge
Ability to take direction well but work independently, and have the ability to
learn and assimilate information quickly.
Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude, personal integrity, problem
solving ability
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Project) tools
Technical aptitude to learn new software quickly
Ability to break down business problems into logical tasks
Ability to think creatively
Ability to lead meetings
Management experience n a large global IT development environment
Experience in business analysisEducation and Other Typical Requirements
Four year degree in any business or technical area or equivalent experience is
preferred plus six or more years relevant work experience.
Productivity, initiative, professionalism, customer service attitude, attention
to detail and quality, ability to multitask, team focus, strong interpersonal
skills, strong verbal and written communication skills and adherence to firm
and US IT standard operating procedures.
Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
Strong skills utilizing Lotus Notes databases and Microsoft Office Suite
Understanding of technology/software relevant to team
Must be willing to work overtime as necessary. Required to carry cell phone,
pager or blackberry.
Ability to develop work approach and project plans to meet client requirements,
manage and monitor progress of plan
Familiarity or experience with Project Management skills
Excellent client service skills
Ability to organize, plan and carry out complex assignments
Ability to work effectively with tight deadlines and firm schedules
Effective Problem Solving and negotiating skills
