Health Plan Systems Specialist – Healthcare Group of Arizona

Under supervision of the Assistant Director of Shared Resources, this position performs system analysis, web design, computer systems planning, design, data mapping, system testing and configuration. This position will evaluate hardware and software solutions, develop web-based applications, write system requirement documents and configure documents using XML standards.

Avidity HCS, Inc. is the contracted Third Party Administrator for Healthcare Group of Arizona. This position will work very closely with Healthcare Group of Arizona and therefore may be screened, interviewed and hired in conjunction with Healthcare Group of Arizona and AHCCCS.

Analyzes health plan and web-based system operations and user and business needs.
Plans, designs, modifies information systems and software applications to meet user requirements.
Investigates, plans, and works with other staff on feasibility studies, system performance analysis, cost analysis, and assigned system projects.
Prepares documentation, flow charts, system design documents to meet user requirements.
Configures system software applications to meet user needs.
Provides staff training and training manuals on system operations.
Participate on or lead project teams.
Configures information system performance reports for management.
Analyzes and resolves system problems and user needs, identifies and corrects problems associated with system performance.
May be assigned as Project manager on system development and implementation projects.
Provides recommendations to management on system hardware modification, changes, and upgrades.
Writes requirement documents and participates in vendor bidding processes and monitors IT vendor performance.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor degree in computer science or related field with at least 3 years of experience.
Knowledge of computer networking such as IP addressing, IP Ports, File Sharing.
Programming skills desirable in ASP.NET, HTML, relational debase management systems using MS SQL and C, C++ or JAVA.
Project management certification desirable.
Technical documentation experience.
