Long-term contract opportunity immediately available at a renowned firm in Jersey City, NJ for a Global Content & Website Strategist.
In this position you will be responsible for leading a team of Business and Systems Analysts as well as Information Architects on a very large, global project. Main functions include managing requirements, Content Management strategies, influencing Website layout, design and navigation and taxonomy management. The candidate will formulate the requirements gathering process and provide Support to the Project Manager during the project SDLC. These requirements include WireFrames, Comps, Mental Models & Use Cases as well as Non-Functional requirements like Browser Availability, Site Volume, Capacity and Security requirements. The Strategist will additionally be responsible for transition of requirements and design to the Technical Development and Quality Control teams.
The right person for this position will be a high energy, enthusiastic person who works and relates well with others, reacts and performs well under pressure and is a self-starter who can set and meet goals with a minimum of supervision. Additionally you MUST have previously worked in this capacity on global, large-scale Website projects as this firm is looking for a candidate who has previously done this work before & can give examples of those projects in which they managed in a Content & Website Strategist capacity.

REQUIREMENTS
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Formulate, institutionalize and implement a consistent and repeatable Requirements Gathering process
- Support the Project Manager throughout the Project SDLC
- Manage a team of Business Analysts, Systems Analysts and Information Architects as well as manage deliverables, resources & resource utilization
- Manage Requirements from Business for Web-based Applications
- Work with Quality Control and Development group to deliver requirements
- Manage multiple external vendor relationships and resources
- Effectively communicate status to Senior Management
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in Industrial Design, Interactive Design, Library Sciences, Cognitive Psychology, Computer Science, Fine Arts, Information Science or related area is preferred
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates MUST have 7+ years experience functioning as a Web Content Strategist or Information Architect, and at least 5+ years in a supervisory role in a Web development/Website building environment involved in most of the following areas:
- Experience in leading and mentoring a team of Business Analysts and /or Information Architects mainly for Web-based Applications. Strong Leadership and Facilitation skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiating skills with prior success acting as a Change Agent and Influencer.
- Sound and accurate judgment with ability to support and explain reasoning for decisions, mainly to Senior Management. Includes appropriate people in decision-making process; and ensure timely decisions are made.
- Ability to multi-task, manage priorities, and ensure that requests are handled in a timely and proactive manner.
- Must have the ability to work well with multiple teams and people to identify content and feature opportunities; experience in talking to multiple audiences, including business and technical audiences.
- Provide requirements linkage and continuity to Business Units, Development, Quality Control, Architecture and Technical Support groups.
- Comprehensive understanding of Website presentation including, importance of content management, website design and navigation, website optimization techniques, page layouts, web portals, difference between content management and delivery, workflow management, taxonomy management, etc.
- Prior experience with creation / maintenance of any global website that would include internationalization, translation, geolocation, localization concepts and design for such implementation.
- Prior experience with Usability testing, Storyboarding, Wireframe and Comp creation, managing the relation between the Business Analyst, Information Architect and Web Designer roles.
- Prior experience with external vendor management (some remote), ability to evaluate and challenge multiple, concurrent vendor deliverables effectively.
- Candidates should have full project SDLC experience and understand project management and control.
- Prior experience working with a Web or Enterprise Content Management Product(s).
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Prior Web Development experience.
- Prior Business Process Re-engineering experience.
- Good understanding of Content-related Web Governance.
- Prior experience in an Internet /New Media setting.
