Fortune 500 Data Base Administrator (DBA)

I have an opportunity in which you might be interested or know of someone that would be interested. A Fortune 500 company is looking for a Data Base Administrator to hire as a full-time employee (i.e., non-contract) working out of their Rockleigh, NJ office. The position offers tremendous potential. We (OSI), have been asked to assist in the recruiting process for this position.

This is a mid-level position with great opportunity for learning, growing, and advancing in an innovative environment, contributing to highly-successful commercial software products and services. The position will be to analyze, program and maintain the databases. The successful candidate will also be able to streamline and suggest improvements to database architecture and structure. This is a critical component to the success of the products and a highly visible position.
REQUIREMENTS


The following skills/experience is required:
2-6 yrs of SQL server programming/administration required. MYSQL or Oracle experience, SQL Server MCP/MCDBA certification is preferred.
Write SQL scripts.
Be able to do daily maintenance, programming and administration on the SQL server.
Be able to work with minimum supervision.
Willing to learn.
Excellent Communication skills (both written and oral), in English.
Being a Team player is very important.
Bachelor's degree in computer science (or a similar degree) or equivalent experience.

Within the first 2 months, demonstrate managerial and leadership capabilities. Within the first 3 months, become familiar with our data bases MSSQL and ORACLE schemas and implementations. Be familiar with the different application and data compilations. Within the first 6 months, suggest improvement and optimization. Demonstrate leadership attributes.


Compensation is negotiable within the pay grade (based on experience) and will be competitive. Full benefits are offered that can include health, life/disability, savings/retirement, performance/growth sharing, and others. Travel will be minimal, if any. Relocation assistance is not available, and working remotely is not an option.
