Field Automation Specialist

Job Description: Summary
Researches and determines business requirements and technical specifications for the development, modification, and expansion of new and current DHL-provided end-user shipping programs and systems. Configures and installs shipping systems on customer premises, integrating with customer's back-end database systems. The FAS will be responsible for software upgrades to shipping equipment located at customer sites. They will also provide technical support (break & fix) and troubleshoot hardware and software on laptops, desktops, and low level network support. Ability and willingness to travel to customer locations in yuor assigned area is essential.
Knowledge of following hardware: PC, CPU, Printers, Modems, Graphic Cards, Floppy Drives, Hard Drives, RAM.
Knowledge of following software: DOS, Windows 95/2000/XP, MS Office (specifically Excel, file manipulation, DB Visualizer), SQL DB, ODBC, software installation, basic networking, Internet connectivity.Skills & Qualifications
Entry level professional contributor on a project or specialty work team. Typically requires BS/BA or related work experience in related discipline and 0-2 years of experience in related field. Knowledge of freight shipping system sis desireable, but not required, as training will be provided. Professional certification may be required in some areas.
