Experienced Technical Editor

Volt is seeking a skilled Technical Editor to support content for a developer audience. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of editorial excellence in programmer documentation for one or more of the technologies included in various SDKs, and will have the leadership skills to help develop other editors and drive business.
This editor will support 2 writers producing a high volume of content in a continuous publishing environment. Content types include both short- and long-form text such as: Software Development Kits (SDKs); developer blogs, community, and beta sites; API program communications and forms (program invitation; token request forms; assistance escalation form; code completion checklist; etc); Technical articles; Customer e-mails about product updates.
Other responsibilities:
Maintain current guidelines for editing the API SDK; create processes, schedules, and terminology lists for new projects.
Attend the weekly Content Review Board; note impact of product changes/additions to the API content set.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate has the following experience:
3+ years of experience as a Technical Editor

3+ years editing documentation for a developer/programmer audience

3+ years experience editing documentation in XML

Solid skills in both developmental and copy editing

Experience using Doc Studio, XMetaL, Source Depot, and Word

Experience in a challenging, fast-paced environment with multiple publishing partners and deliverables

Experience with project management and leading change

Experience working with content/publishing partners on editorial issues such as: Corporate and industry standards; Standards for developer documentation; Common metadata; Information management; Documentation structure; Quality control.Other helpful skills:
