We are currently seeking a DBA who will be responsible for the Database, Transaction and Messaging (DTMA) Team is founded on the classic Database Administration (DBA) function, with the addition of enterprise messaging administration added to it.
This position is focused specifically on Windows SQL Server database administration.The professionals in the DTMA team serve as the Enterprise and IT-wide competency center for database and messaging technology, and for database information management and support. The DTMA team provides the database, transaction, and messaging expertise to the rest of the IT organization for the development, deployment, and ongoing support and maintenance for the technical infrastructure; and of the application databases and message queues that utilize that infrastructure.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Software Engineering or at least 4 years experience in information technology, computer science or software engineering.
At least 4 total years of experience in the Information Technology field
At least 3 years of one of the following:
* Database Administration experience using one or more of the following DBMSs (Oracle, SQL Server, Informix, Rdb, IBM UDB, z/OS DB2, or z/OS IMS* IT Application/Database developer experience using one or more of the following DBMSs (Oracle, SQL Server, Informix, Rdb, IBM UDB, z/OS DB2, or z/OS IMS
* IT Systems/Server Manager experience using one or more of the following server platforms (Unix, Linux, Windows, z/OS, or Open VMS).At least 2 years experience as a full-lifecycle Database Administrator, on SQL Server 2000/2005 including database development, deployment, and change management; database security administration; ongoing backup/recovery, and monitoring.Additional Requirements:SQL design, coding, and tuning; and application/database tuning and performance management, for SQL Server 2000/2005.Database operational support and troubleshooting, and DBMS software maintenance and patching, for SQL Server 2000/2005.Hands-on experience with supporting database deployments on Windows 2000/2003 servers. This includes usage of editors, scripting, security, and networking.Ability to travel, on at least a limited, or intermittent basis for site-support, or for education.Ability to support production systems on a pager or other on-call and remote-support basis for 7x24 systems availability, for emergency support, and for systems maintenance required to be performed outside of business hours.
