Category: TechnicalTravel: NoneJob Description:Position Title: Enterprise Reporting Analyst Department: Corporate IT Reports To: Regional IT Director ________________________________________________________________ JOB SUMMARY The Enterprise Reporting Admin is responsible for the technical planning, design, programming, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of the BO software. This role also provides Business Intelligence (BI) tool and application support to end-users by opening a trouble ticket, trouble-shooting the issue, engaging SME resources, and regularly communicating status to impacted users and groups. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES ? Responsible for escalating problems to internal and external support teams depending on the type and severity of the problem. ? Design and build Business Object Universes ? Deployment, configuration, patching/maintenance of the Business Objects Environment ? Research existing and new features of Business Objects and develop recommended implementation strategies and techniques. ? Document recommended solutions/implementation techniques ? Provide on-going consulting to report writers. This includes assistance in addressing support and data questions for existing production reports. ? Assessing the performance and capacity requirements of the reporting technologies ? On-call support of the Business Objects reporting environment, Business Objects internal/external user assistance, and day-to-day support. ? Possible report design in case of report request. ? Participate in design reviews and provide guidance for how to best structure information for reporting purposes ? Support others in analyzing and resolving difficult problems involving any part of application ? Manage and administer - reviewing, assigning, and monitoring to resolution - all trouble tickets for the Business Objects team. OTHER FUNCTIONS ? Works with computer software vendors and Business Data Analysis Manager and Enterprise Reporting Team to coordinate technical support and solutions. ? Responsible for project and task schedules. ? Assists with the forecasting and assessing of computer hardware and software requirements. ? Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS Formal Knowledge: ? Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience. Skills: 5 years experience as a hands-on, full-time BI tools administrator in an enterprise reporting environment 5 years experience in a user support role within a data warehouse organization including responding directly to user phone calls and emails, opening and closing tickets, escalating and engaging resources as required to resolve issues or answer questions 2 years of SQL development experience with the ability to write and implement complex SQL commands Strong technical, analytic, and problem-solving. Excellent communication skills and ability to learn business practices and concepts required. Excellent verbal and written skills; open to share knowledge/information. Special Mental or Physical Demands: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. No or very limited physical effort required. No or very limited exposure to physical risk. SUPERVISION RECEIVED/GIVEN Direct Supervision Received: Reports to Business Data Analysis Manager. Direct Supervision Given: None. CONTACTS Internal Contacts: Frequent contact by phone, in person, in writing, by email with project team members and Corporate IT staff. Frequent contact with the staff of all levels for problem resolution and consultation. External Contacts:Frequent contact with vendors contracting for the projects.
