This position is part of the IT application development organization in Information Technology. This position collaborates with the Project Managers, Autodesk Business units, Production Support, QA, training, and release management.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a LEADERSHIP Architect role that will require independent strategic technical decisions.
Analyze business requirements and propose an appropriate functional and technical solution
Design, prototype, implement, test and troubleshoot product features.
Deliver results defined by customer requirements and product specifications with a high level of quality.
Estimate time requirements for assigned projects. Deliver assignments on time, adhering to pre-determined specification and quality standards.
Work closely with Development and Quality Engineers in unit level testing and problem resolution. Assure business process functional, performance, and security requirements have been adequately addressed through application design
Assure KPIs are adequately addressed through application design.
Identify major technical risk areas, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
Work closely with Business Analysts to ensure understanding of application capabilities
Ensure all functional and security requirements can be have traceability in the application design documents so that QA knows how each business process steps is satisfied. This facilitates QA regression testing analysis, making it easy determine which components in which business process flows will need to be retested when an error is detected that affects previously tested business flows.
Work closely with Business Analysts and the QA team to perform the unit, functional and integration testing.
Document user training materials and provide training to the business users as neededREQUIRED SKILLS
Strong knowledge of JAVA: advanced JAVA concepts, Sockets, SSL, Servlets, JSP, Message-Driven Beans, HTML, JMS, XML, and Web Services. Experience with J2EE application servers.
Experience working with JUnit, ANT, and CVS.
Minimum 10 years progressive experience in software development / support of mission-critical systems required.
Comprehension of industry and application best practices for software product life cycles and the ability to understand the impact of business decisions on technical environments required.
Demonstrated ability to excel in a collaborative environment to build consensus and to manage conflicting priorities.
Expertise in web applications development and system requirements analysis, and all aspects of system application and functional design, configuration, and customization.
Ability to deliver under pressure and with short timelines; strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Must be highly organized and self-motivated.
Must have strong communication skills; ability to influence peers and superiors.
Skills in managing multiple and often conflicting priorities. Must have proven success managing in matrix environments.
Desire to produce high-quality products.
5+ years in J2EE enterprise software projects, with a proven track-record of success.
