Reports directly reporting to the Manager of Enterprise Computing & Middleware Architecture within Global Technology Services Enterprise Infrastructure Architecture & Standards Management. Principally responsible for research and development, emerging technologies, and enterprise architecture of global IT infrastructure. Technology areas include servers (Unix and Intel), Data Center Architectures, and Storage.
Principle duties include but are not limited to:
Responsible for the enterprise architecture of the global IT infrastructure
Perform research and development, evaluation of emerging technologies, and architecture and consulting to support business initiatives
Assess Honeywell's global enterprise infrastructure and set strategic direction
Devise tactical and strategic enterprise infrastructure solutions
Devise criteria to determine when Honeywell should implement emerging technologies in areas of responsibility
Participate in the updates of Honeywell's IT Infrastructure Technology Roadmap
Participate in the development and updates of Honeywell's IT Enterprise Infrastructure Standards
Perform life cycle management of technologies in areas of responsibility
Conduct Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Return On Investment (ROI) to support recommended solutions
Utilize DFSS and Six Sigma tools to conduct research and design solutions
Function as a Tier 4 Subject Matter Expert (SME) for areas of responsibility
Research and develop tactical and strategic solutions to address business needs and problems within Honeywell
Manage vendors and service providers when conducting product assessments
Create and issue Request for Information (RFI) to vendors about their product offerings
Perform proof of concept testing to validate technologies
Analyze technology, industry, and market trends to recommend technology strategies that best supports system and customer needs and overall business strategyJob Requirements
Solid infrastructure architecture and standards experience in a large global enterprise environment
Excellent presentation, verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Self-starter and able to work effectively in a teaming environment
Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams
Develop and recommend enterprise solutions to solve business problems and enable business processes
Strong project and vendor management skills
Customer focused, self-motivated, results and action oriented
Strong business acumen
DFSS and Six Sigma experience/certification preferred
Ability to conduct financial TCO and ROI
Unix or Microsoft Certifcations
Strong skills in researching and analyzing technology, industry, and market trends to develop and articulate technology strategies
Expertise in multiple technology environments and a solid understanding of enterprise architecture and business strategy
B.S. in either Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred or equivalent experience
Minimum of 7 years experience in a large or global enterprise environment performing design, architecture and research preferred

Company Overview
Honeywell can trace its roots back to 1885, when an inventor named Albert Butz patented the furnace regulator and alarm. He formed the Butz Thermo-Electric Regulator Co., Minneapolis, on April 23, 1886, and a few weeks later invented a simple, yet ingenious device that he called the "damper flapper."
Here's how it worked. When a room cooled below a predetermined temperature, a thermostat closed the circuit and energized an armature. This pulled the stop from the motor gears, allowing a crank attached to the main motor shaft to turn one-half revolution. A chain connected to the crank opened the furnace's air damper to let in air. This made the fire burn hotter. When the temperature rose to the preset level, the thermostat signaled the motor to turn another half revolution, closing the damper and damping the fire. The temperature correction was automatic. Over the years, many Honeywell products have been based upon similar, but more complicated closed-loop systems.
