This Software Developer will work within the Engineering & Technology department, primarily focusing on the Nielsen Media Research Anytime Anywhere Media Measurement (A2/M2) Out-of-Home (OOH) and Personal Video Device (PVD) Measurement inititiatives.The selected candidate will participate in business and systems requirements gathering and transform these requirements into technical specdifications. The candidate will develop embedded programs from these specifications using the 'C" programming language. The software will interface and deliver data to the A2/M2 Back Office processing system. In addition the candidate will work on other project deliverables and technical tasks that will lead to the production delivery of the A2M2 OOH and PVD systems.Qualifications
Good understanding of and ability to apply the fundamental principles of software analysis, design, coding and testing.
Experience and high proficiency in the 'C' programming language.
Experienced at writing boot loaders and applications for microcontrollers and digital signal processors.
Be able to read and follow hardware schematics. Ability to contribute to hardware design is a plus.
Experienced writing low level software such as DMA, FLASH and CODEC drivers using datasheets.
A problem solver who can analyze problems and generate solutions which require fewer resources.
Experienced at writing/implementing communications protocols: I2C, SPI, USB and Ethernet.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Ability to effectively organize, multi-task, and redirect activities to respond to changes in priorities.
Ability to work on a fast-paced team.Skills Desired:
Experience developing in a PC environment.
Experience with source code managementt, and unit and automated testing tools.
Experience working in a PC environment with knowledge of various products such as Microsoft Word or Excel.
Experience with Nielsen Media Research data, processing and systems.
