Electrical Technical Specialist

Job Function: Maintenance Business Unit: Alcoa Investment Cast & Forged ProductsJob Status: Full-TimeRelocation Eligible: NoPosition Description: Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, Lead Maintenance Supervisor or Senior Staff Engineer, this position is accountable for:
Providing technical expertise and consultation to staff personnel in matters involving problem resolution on plant production equipment. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, hydraulic presses, mechanical presses, combustion systems, programmable logic controllers and robots.
Working closely with the engineering staff personnel on the resolution of repetitive maintenance problems in their areas to continuously improve the reliability of the equipment and facilities.
Designing and implementing an effective reliability centered maintenance program for critical production equipment.
Analyze controls, electronics and/or hydraulic and mechanical problems on critical equipment and correct these problems in the shortest possible time.
Develop and implement solutions to areas of poor equipment reliability, especially in the area of controls and electronics.
Provide ongoing technical training to the mechanical and electrical crafts personnel.
Develop and maintain technical documentation on the plants physical assets. Documentation includes functional descriptions, drawings, parts data and troubleshooting information.
Working closely with project engineering personnel to support new equipment installations.
The objective of this position is to supply electrical or mechanical technical support to maintenance crafts personnel and supervision.Job Requirements
Minimum Education Required: AssociatesMinimum Years of Experience: 5Minimum Travel Required: 0-25%Basic Qualifications: This position requires an excellent electrical background (electronics, motors, relays, etc.) and/ or mechanical background, experience with hydraulic equipment, furnaces, and other heavy industrial equipment. The individual must be able to take a hands-on approach to problem solving and have the ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings. Well-developed communication and human relations skills are essential in day-to-day interaction with personnel at all levels of the organization.Preferred Qualifications: An appropriate technical degree coupled with an excellent electrical background (electronics, motors, relays, etc.) and/ or mechanical background, experience with hydraulic equipment, furnaces, and other heavy industrial equipment. The individual must be able to take a hands-on approach to problem solving and have the ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
