Electric Systems Specialist and IS Specialist

The City of Auburn, IN is a progressive Midwest community with an approximate population of 12,000. The City has begun providing best-in-class broadband services to local businesses; Information Systems provides networking and application support for 12 civil and utility government departments; Municipal Electric Utilities and Information Systems Departments jointly manage the new division, 'Auburn Essential Services'.

The City is accepting resumes for two (2) positions, which provide support for a diverse scope of systems and processes. Strong problem solving and communication skills in a fast paced team environment required.

Electric Systems Specialist

Electric Substation electronics project management, implementation, and support; Geographic Information Systems facility maintenance and user support; and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition use and user support. Assist in managing the fiber-optic infrastructure used by Auburn Electric and Auburn Essential Services.

IS Specialist

Support city-wide Cisco powered fiber network which connects over 28 city and county government facilities; Windows Server infrastructure; IP telephony/unified messaging; City Internet and intranet web sites; and a myriad of applications that include financial management, HR/Payroll, document management, Community Development, utility management, time and attendance, eGovernment, SCADA, enterprise reporting, Geographic Information Systems. Assist in supervising “Auburn Essential Services”.

Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred or combination of education and experience.

Starting salary range is $36,400 to $54,600 commensurate with qualifications and experience.
