DW ETL Architect / BI ModelerDescription of Duties:
"Create and Maintain Data Warehouse Extract Transform & Load (ETL) Processes using Cognos Decision Stream.
"Create and Maintain Data Warehouse MetaData Repositories
"Create and Maintain Business Intelligence Ad-Hoc & Production Master Models
"Document proposed ETL processes with Logical Data Flow.
"Create entity relationship models to support logical/physical database designs.
"Create MetaData describing database design and attribute descriptions.
"Create, expand, and optimize ETL jobs based on ETL specifications driven by changing business requirements. Write Database Procedures, Functions and Views to optimize ETL processes.
"Coordinate Source data feeds to Data Warehouse.
"Assists in the management of database projects including preparation/delivery of presentations on database management concepts.
"Developing, documenting, and executing test plans.
"Planning and implementing data integration processes for multiple source systems.
"Identification and resolution of problems encountered by the users of the system.
"Analysis and implementation of enhancements, and operation and maintenance of data warehouse.
"Responsible for Data Modeling, data warehouse and Data Mart Technical Specification in support of source data and its modeling and transformation to support new sets of business intelligence solutions.
"Import the physical structure (created from ETL) of the DW to a business model based upon consistent application of established rules (Business Presentation layer).
"Create, and implement an environment that connects the Data Warehouse via a MetaData repository to the user community, where users can develop/execute reports that return one consistent view of the data.
"Define and Create CUBE data source feeds. Performance tune models via generated object queries used to build report templates, filters, and metrics.
"Create and apply security filters & manage Packages published to Web.
"Work closely with the Data Warehouse analysts to coordinate development and implementation activities.
Summary of Qualifications:"Enhanced Knowledge of Data Warehouse & BI Concepts (ETL, Star Schema) and Best Practices- think in business dimensions (what, who, when, where, why) and in performance metrics. Ability to work with business users & other business analysts to derive data requirements & data design information.
"Enhanced Knowledge of Star Schema Designs. Fact Builds and Hierarchical Dimensions, Facts and History Preservation (Type 2 Dimensions), Resolving Data Quality Issues.
"Hands-on in transformation strategies, data acquisition and mapping strategies.
"Hands-on with ReportNet Framework Manager product to create a MetaData Architecture in support of BI initiatives.
"Ability to complete complex analysis, design & programming projects
