Director of Infrastructure
The position of Director of Infrastructure will be responsible for managing, leading and providing strategic direction for the Information Technology organization. It is imperative the IT organization not only support business operations but also aligns with future business goals, objectives and numerous process improvements. The Director must develop an intimate understanding of the business, issues and competitive challenges facing the Company. This position will lead and coordinate all infrastructure support and change initiatives, ensuring that the IT organization is an efficient, value-added function. The Director will serve as a member of the IT senior management team reporting to the Chief Information Officer.
The Director of Infrastructure will be responsible for the following:
•Responding to the distinct IT needs of several corporate departments and locations.
•Supporting a large and varied technical platform, operations activities and application development functions. Managing systems engineering, network engineering, desktop and user support functions.
•Developing delivery plans identifying IT applications and supporting business initiatives with a major focus on business processes. Lead the IT enterprise application organization to meet critical business objectives, manage costs and budgets, enhance security and processes, and improve service reliability.
•Planning, organizing, leading projects, initiatives, and teams. Delivering in a timely manner and within expected cost and risk parameters.
•Directing the design, development and maintenance of systems, desktops, networks, communications and processes to meet company objectives and needs.
•Administering and controlling the IT engineering and technical services budget to contribute to a cost effective operation. Managing strategic partnerships and vendor relationships including critical outside consultant/outsourcing providers.
•Maintaining knowledge of developments in the area of systems & hardware to assure that new developments are incorporated in future systems of the Company.
•Assuming overall responsibility for ensuring all organizational policy, procedures and processes are compliant with organizational and statutory requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley.
•Providing hands-on coverage and backup where necessary to ensure stability, project completion, adherence to best practices
Experience Requirements:
•Ten plus (10+) years of increasingly responsible hands-on and leadership experience in information technology gained with companies respected for their well-managed information systems organizations. A minimum of five plus (5+) years functioning in IT senior management.
•Demonstrated professionalism including exceptional skills at leading, planning, organizing, and controlling. Ability to attract and retain top quality talent. Ability to partner effectively with IT and business management. Ability to work seamlessly between strategic and tactical levels of operation.
•Must have extensive background or exposure to business processes and technology best practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to analyze and solve problems; ability to prioritize and organize. Demonstrated skill in communicating with both business and technical partners.
•A strong working knowledge involving a wide range of Windows server-based technologies along with a solid grasp of the trends and direction of emerging technologies. Possess the ability to assess and impact planned information technology investments within the Company. Exposure to a broad range of processes, platforms, architecture applications and hardware. Experience managing a primary and backup data center.
•Demonstrated ability to build and execute an infrastructure plan including risk management, resource management, budget management, and accountability.
•BS Degree or Higher. Major in Computer Science, Business or Management Information Systems preferred.
•Required technology background includes: Citrix, EMC Symmetrix DMX, VMWare, Windows servers and desktops, Cisco VoIP.
