Abbott is the largest employer in Lake County, IL, with 12,000 employees at its corporate headquarters, near Waukegan.Directs and controls enterprise-wide global SAP solutions to ensure effective development, implementation and ongoing operations in support of business strategies and compliant with relevant regulatory agencies. Delivers agreed upon solutions on time, within scope, and consistent with agreed upon resource utilization.1. Partner with IT and Business communities in the SAP strategic vision. Interacts with global business leaders to understand key directives and impact on the SAP landscape. Translates the SAP strategic vision into actionable implementation plan(s).2. Lead and manage the SAP Center of Excellence (COE) organization to optimize resources, ensure a cost effective competitive environment and partner effectively with the IT and business communities functionally and divisionally world wide.3. Establish and ensure SAP quality and compliance with policies, procedures and practices as they pertain to relevant regulatory agencies.4. Directs the Technical Design Review process to establish and govern architecture, design standards, master data management, integration, system development, change management and 2nd level support across the enterprise.5. Directs the SAP project development activities for all global implementations to ensure consistent application of technology across the SAP portfolio and alignment with Abbott's IT Strategy.6. Build and maintain relationships with outside firms used in SAP projects, as well as the general SAP industry, and serve as Abbott's primary liaison.Qualifications
Minimum of 10 - 15 years of progressive IT managerial experience in a decentralized environment.
Experience in leading and organizing project teams and working across organizational boundaries.
Experience in working in a FDA regulated or equivalent compliance business (e.g. experience with validated software related to medical or pharmaceutical products).
Proven experience in all aspects of SAP implementations - strategy, architecture, functionality, and infrastructure.
Experience in translating organizational strategic and tactical business plans into IT strategic and operations plans.
Strong business and financial acumen is required
Possess an "executive presence" with the ability to influence and advise executive leadership.Abbott welcomes and encourages employee diversity.
