Director IT

This position oversees the overall leadership, strategy and management of the information technology initiatives undertaken to support the vision, leadership and goals of Haven Hospice.

Directs and coordinates:
Planning and integration of information technology management
Budgeting
Strategic and tactical plan
Business process re-engineering
Applications support
Network and infrastructure Telecommunication systems
User services (help desk, desktop support, and training)
Responsible for the development of database system strategies to include data security and warehousing, clinical applications and other related technologies as requested
The Director of Information Technology ensures the continuous (24/7) delivery of available and responsive systems, and timely and accurate data throughout.

The Director of Information Technology reports directly to the Sr. Director Finance and Administration, with a dotted line to the CEO, and is a member of the top management staff.

He/she supervises the Information Technology team and carries out oversight responsibilities in accordance with the agency’s policies and applicable laws, to include:
Interviewing, hiring and training employees
Planning
Assigning and directing work
Appraising performance
Counseling staff
Addressing and resolving issues and concerns
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study
Experience:
10+ years progressive management experience in the Information Technology industry, with 2 of those years preferably in a hospice/healthcare environment and emphasis on networks, telecommunications and database administration
IT planning at the tactical and strategic levels
Budget development and administration
Focus on IT process management and improvement
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and written communications skills required
Advanced level of project management and analytical skills. Good general business skills
Process oriented
Strong planning and organizational skills
High degree of confidentiality, maturity, tactfulness and business ethics
Presentation skills required
Solid foundation in IT operations and customer service support functions
Exhibits excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills
Demonstrated experience leadership ability
Proven ability to manage human, material and financial resources
