Development Manager

KPMG LLP provides audit, tax and advisory services to a broad range of clients. We are currently seeking a Development Manager to join us in our Montvale office.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical lead/application design for Risk applications

Manage other technical leads in group on various applications, and provide overall direction to the technical designs implemented for software applications to support business initiatives for internal customers

Assist in overseeing the development, implementation and support from a technical design perspective

Work directly with business owners, business analysts and Information Services (IS)Project Managers to elicit and document business requirements for enhancements and new projects

Provide performance management responsibilities for other technical leads within group

Define technical solutions, specifically application architecture design

Manage project tech leads to translate design into product

Assist project manager and project tech lead in defining scope of work, estimates, and resource plans

Manage technical design for projects

Manage other technical leads, providing guidance on specific projects, help ensure that group standards are adhered to, troubleshooting, and perform performance management responsibilities

Provide the technical coordination, from design through implementation, with clients, Project Managers, developers, IS support groups, and 3rd party vendors if applicable
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Six years of IS experience

Four years of experience as a Senior Developer responsible for application technical design including two years as an Application Designer using Object-Oriented methodologies

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Able to successfully create and transmit technical design to developers for implementation.

Able to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team

Strong experience as a primary technical project leader on successful midsize to large application development projects from requirements through implementation

Hands-on experience of Object-Oriented design including creating Use Cases, Class and Sequence Diagrams, and UML notation

Hands-on development experience with Microsoft .NET IDE, C#, ASP.NET, VB.NET, XSL/XSLT, Crystal reporting, SQL Server. Or alternately, hands-on development experience with similar Web based object-oriented environment (e.g. Websphere/Java)

Experience with evaluating and integrating third party products

Experience with application implementation and support procedures

Experience with requirements gathering and business process analysis

Familiarity with SDLC methodologies such as RUP/UML or CMM.

Familiarity with designing and implementing multi-lingual applications
