The ideal candidate has five or more years of experience in information systems development along with three years leading large teams within a technical environment. Specific technology requirements are; Messaging (Exchange/Outlook E-mail, Archiving, Surveillance, Regulatory Discovery, MS Office (Desktop Software Office suite, Project, Visio, etc.), Workstations (Desktop O/S; Specialized (Non-Std.) Desktops; MAC Support), Printers and Mobile Technology (Laptops, Tablet PC's, PDA's). Other necessary skills include excellent communication and organization skills. Plan, direct, and manage the activities for a department consisting of several teams of associates/contractors responsible for operations, support, development, and implementation.
Establish and maintain effective communications and relationships across countries, departments, business areas, and vendors.
Align department activities and responsibilities with the firm's strategic direction.
Develop and execute on-going improvements to all processes related to department as well as divisional opportunities.
Ensure prudent use of the firm's financial resources Provide leadership, development, and mentoring to Team Leaders, Project Leaders, and associates through examples and timely feedback.
Develop successors for key positions for their department.
Lead by example, demonstrating firm values.Specific technology requirements are as follows:

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, etc. preferred or equivalent experience in information systems Master's degree is a plus.
Eight or more years of experience directly related to information systems development and support experience.
Three or more years of team leadership or equivalent responsibilities.
Strong knowledge/experience with financial services industry.
Detailed understanding of project management methodologies, system development lifecycle, infrastructure best practices and risk management concepts.
Knowledge of business system interactions, infrastructure dependencies, etc. Knowledge of current state-of-the-art and emerging technology trends, vendors and products.
Detailed experience in financial services industry is preferred.
Excellent ability to lead, mentor, train and develop leaders and technical associates.
Excellent communication, organizational, time, and project management skills.
Excellent relationship-management skills with all organizational levels.
Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
