Database Marketing Manager

Reporting to the Circulation Sales Director, this leadership position will work closely with senior management and play a key role in directing and executing multi-channel, consumer database marketing campaigns, in support of newspaper subscription and advertising partner direct marketing efforts. Responsibilities include providing the strategic direction and tactical support for our consumer direct marketing efforts to increase market share and meet circulation volume objectives. This position will manage a dynamic team that drives acquisition and retention initiatives for the Enquirer through multiple campaign channels, as well as supporting analytics. This individual will work closely with Information Technology to resolve data issues and with Marketing and Advertising personnel to develop strategies to maximize sales results. This position plays a critical role in managing the infrastructure and processes for data analysis, campaign management, call center lead distribution and other database functions. We're looking for a manager to provide the leadership and vision to drive results in this newly developed area of the organization.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate would have a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing plus 5 or more years of relevant experience in database management and analytics. Excellent strategic, analytical skills with strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required. Proven working knowledge of consumer marketing databases, targeting techniques and business-to-consumer direct marketing initiatives is required. Must have demonstrated experience with market research analysis, sales campaign management and database analysis tools. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Applications, SQL and relational databases are required. Prefer 2 - 3 years experience in a managerial role.
