Database Developer

Responsibilities: One of the worlds leading financial firms is seeking a Senior Lead Developer with at least seven years of experience for their Stamford, CT office. This role is for a database/business objects developer to work in one of the application development teams within Fixed Income IT (Banking Products IT - BPIT). The work will cover building and enhancing leading edge, business critical front office sales and trading systems. The applications employ three tier architecture utilizing Java running under Windows XP, Java running under Linux and Oracle as the database back end. This role focuses on the development of the Business Objects and Oracle database layers within BP. This person will be involved in Business Objects. This person will be creating new reports, managing changes in existing reports, updating/defining BO universes, and updating oracle layer functions and interfaces to enhance the BO layer functionality. This person will also be managing and optimizing the windows-based BO server. This person will be involved in Oracle. The developer will spend time assisting in the design and physical implementation of the reporting database. This person will be developing stored procedure APIs for the middle tier of the infrastructure whether it be the BO server or the trading system services. This person will define/tune database interfaces to server components that deal directly with the database layer. This person will be involved in defining/implementing database merging/replication strategies. This person will assist in designing a new Banking Products Warehouse and perform some database analysis and tuning. This person will also be involved in the participation in technical strategic decisions.
