Database Architect Manager

•Manage data architects, data administrators, and report writers;
•Manage client enhancement requests
•Insure adherence to the agreed upon standards for both transition to production support units and architectural strategies
•Manage developers to meet user requests and assist with prioritization
Work with other development teams to effectively deliver solutions via either minor enhancements, simple prototypes or requirement definition for larger projects
•Take user requirements and develop specifications as needed
•Manage outside vendors and consultants
•Provide management reporting to help identify trends developing from various user requests
•Assist with special projects as directed by management, perform project tracking as required
•Participate in the development of project plans and contribute effectively to planning & control
•Confirm or assist with documentation of applications/solutions delivered as required to transition support to the production support units
•Participate in the testing, debugging and integration of accepted technological solutions
•Manage competing task priorities and communicate status to clients and management
•Respond to requests from internal and external clients to investigate and solve problems with technological systems, programs, and/or improve business systems processes
•Remain up to date on software applications and technologies that can add value to the solutions and applications we are offering to our customers
REQUIREMENTS
•Thin client technologies
•Architecture implementation experience
•XML, XSL, CVS, EJB, OJB, JSF, JSP, SQL and Oracle
•Open Source knowledge
•Object oriented programming
•Software maintenance management experience
•Client/Server development
•Exceptional leadership, interpersonal and presentation skills
•Futures/brokerage industry experience
•Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
•Web development and AS400 development in RPG IV is a plus
