DATABASE ANALYST
- Acts as a team member of the COE which is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of Carlson's Business Intelligence applications.
- Responsible for overall information design, balancing optimization of data access with resource utilization factors.
- The DBA is responsible for defining and implementing database infrastructures to support project needs.
- The DBA works closely with the Data Modeler to validate the physical definition of data structures and views.
- The DBA is the liaison between Carlson Companies and IBM Applications on Demand (AOD).
- Provide best practices leadership to data analysts and application developers. Provide data modeling and design architecture support.
- Translates enterprise or business needs into long-term information architecture solutions.
- Duties include backup and restore of Financial Data Store (FDS).
- Supporting existing users with security profiles is required.
- Estimate, monitor and tune database performance
- Investigate and resolve data integrity issues
- Primary liaison with backend technical support for trouble tickets, Informatica, and IBM Applications on Demand (AOD).
- Engage in business analysis, information acquisition analysis and design, data access analysis and design.
- Engage in archive and recovery strategy, security and change mngt.
- Maintain data standards and best practices and prepare documentation and design for data modeling practices at the enterprise or BU I/T level.

Position Requirements:
- 5+ years of comprehensive DBA experience
- 3+ years experience supporting data warehouses (security, application updates, maintenance, and working with technical support).
- Experience with Oracle, Toad, Informatica, SQL, UNIX scripts
- Understanding of metadata processes and business metadata
- Must understand Data Modeling concepts
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in pressure environment while maintaining keen attention to detail.
- Successful project implementation in a relational database environment.
- Successful track record with large complex projects.
- Skill at working collaboratively in team and/or individually
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.
