Database Administrator Senior - Client/Server

Purpose:
Support mission critical production environments (monitoring, problem resolution, performance tuning), support application development projects utilizing DB2, attend strategy and design meetings, evaluate new products, support product upgrade testing and implementations, technical support for test environments (backups, restores, unload production data to test environments), reviews and enforces data base standards and procedures.

1) Experience with DB2 triggers. 2) Archiving experience a plus.

1) Four years of work experience with a Bachelor Degree OR Five years of work experience with a Technical Certificate or college courses OR Six years of work experience. 2) Advanced knowledge of system monitoring tools and techniques to quickly identify production problems and remedy them. 3) Advanced knowledge of performance tuning and optimization. 4) Advanced knowledge of data modeling and utilizes logical model to ensure efficient and reliable database performance. 5) Designs and develops logical and physical layers of various databases. 6) Supports testing, reporting, back-up and restores in multiple environments. 7) Provides technical assistance and mentoring to department staff members. 8) Thorough knowledge of CICS debugging utilities and techniques. 9) Experience with z/OS mainframe, JCL, Job scheduling, TSO, CA products, Princeton tools, Omegamon II for DB2, DB2 utilities. SQL programming.
