Database Administrator, Oracle & SQL Server

Coordinates with users to determine requirements. Analyzes, designs, creates and implements more complex databases including access methods, device allocations, validation checks, organization and security. Designs more complex data models, logical and physical databases, data dictionaries and schemas. Liaises with database software vendors and external technical support on issues such as software upgrades, problems and potential solutions. Reviews systems under development and related documentation. May coordinate activities of the project team and assist in monitoring project schedules and costs. Typically requires five plus years of experience.Support enterprise web applications utilizing Microsoft.NET and Java Web technologies by serving as the application database developer utilizing Oracle and SQL Server.
Design and optimize database table structures.
Assist application developers in the development of stored procedures.
Effectively interface with internal customers to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Create logical and physical data models based on business requirements and interviews with customers for transactional and data warehouse environments using ER diagramming tools.
Create, modify, and manage DTS and manual ETL scripts to load SQL Server databases from external data sources.
Maintain and enforce database naming standards for objects stored in the database, i.e. tables, indexes, stored procedures, etc.
Participates in defined software development process which includes adding information to requirements and design documents, code reviews, and change management procedures.
Work with DBA's to migrate and refresh application databases from production to development and QA database instances as needed for development and QA needs.
Tune SQL queries used by applications and make suggestions to developers on how to improve performance and throughput.
Works with information security team to ensure data security practices are followed by proper database design and application implementation.
Work with 3rd party vendors on implementing their applications into the standards setup in the database environment.
Provide mentoring to team members on proper use of SQL and RDBMS usage.5+ years experience with Oracle or SQL Server development, prefer mixed experience with both.
Experience using UNIX and Windows operating systems.
Experience using E/R Diagramming tool preferably ERWin, but will accept experience using ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, Oracle Designer, etc.
Some limited knowledge of data warehouse design methods of OLAP including ROLAP, MOLAP, and HOLAP.
Four-year college degree in computer science, information systems or a related field.
Ability to interface with and influence personnel at multiple levels of the ConAgra Foods Enterprise.
Excellent communications (written and oral), change leadership and interpersonal skills.
Customer service focus in a team environment.
A high sense of urgency.
Must be able to be on call and perform after hours and occasional weekend support.
