Database Administrator (Information Systems Manager)
The Database Administrator is responsible for maintaining all business and operational databases ensuring data integrity and integration throughout the airport.
Provide design, sql development, implementation, and maintenance of database management systems (DBMSs) that support application for the Department of Aviation and its stakeholders. Duties include database creation, table maintenance, database tuning/reorganization, SQL statement tuning, backup/recovery, general troubleshooting, script development, documentation in support of the all databases. Provide security (auditing), data migration, integrating with other databases, disaster recovery and database failover/standby. Continuous optimizations of all DOA production databases and ensure logical data models are mapped effectively and efficiently. This position will be responsible for installation, upgrades, patches, TAR support, database tuning, concurrent manager administration, and cloning. Experience in supporting Perl-based tools. Provide daily support for the operations of all databases in a 24x7-production environment. Develop and maintain a database testing and staging environment ensuring smooth migration from testing to production environment. Provide information about availability of new patches and new version that offer features useful and fix problems experienced by end users. Seek out ongoing problematic trends and proactively research and recommend short and long-term solutions. On-Call support will be necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience, 5 years Oracle 9i DBA experience, SQL Database Server ,Good with Unix Shell scripts, Solaris, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL and PL/SQL, Toad, UNIX Sun Solaris, Windows 2000 and 2003

The applicant must be able to manage multiple projects and/or task concurrently. Must be a self-starter and be able to use own judgment/initiative to undertake activities with minimal supervision. The candidate must also have excellent oral and written communications skills as well as the ability to work alone or within a team environment. Effective with department divisions and staff members serving as ISD Rep proving a liaison between assigned business unit. Applicants employed in this position will be required to work extra hours, as needed, and to be on-call for scheduled after-hour emergencies and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
