Data Services Leader

Job Overview:

The Data Services Leader is responsible for the centralized database environment of the company. This person lead the existing team and grow the team to meet the needs of the organization in database design, data architecture and production support.

1. Experience leading professionals across all functions within the database domain.

2. Previous hands-on experience environment maintenance, technical support to peers and application developers, Backup and recovery set-up and monitoring, data access control based on security and privacy policies, performance and tuning analysis, systems support and optimization, migration and execution of SQL stored procedures and scripts.

3. Extensive experience with SQL Server and some experience with Oracle required.

4. Detailed knowledge and understanding of all Data Warehousing aspects including design, ETL, DTS, modeling, OLAP, Data Marts, and Database Administration.

5. Ability to establish a framework and blueprint for the Data Services organization which meets the needs of the organization.

6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements


Deep understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of various database engineering and administration methodologies and frameworks. Hands-on leader and mentor with excellent technical, design, and analytic skills with the ability to communicate with all levels in an organization - corporate management, business users and technical staff. Has a minimum of 10 years of hands on experience leading database professionals across production support, design and data warehouse domains. Experience developing high volume transactional systems in a healthcare payer domain
B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
