This position is involved in the definition and assignment of Data Center resources for technology devices being installed in UHG's data centers. These resources include floor or rack space, power and connectivity to network devices. The role includes the completion of small data center design projects in support of IT projects that require specialization of the raised floor.



Responsibilities include:
Coordination of Data Center infrastructure designs.
Evaluation and design of Data Center layouts.
Determin the placement and power provisioning of servers, network and storage devices for installation into Data Center raised floor space.
Completion of transactions related to the Ethernet, fiber and other cabling needed to allow devices to run in a data center environment.
Participate in the creation of Data Center policies and communicate them to project teams, internal staff, business units and vendors.
Ensure compliance with UHG Data Center standards, asset management procedures and processes.
Interact with building facility team and subcontractors to define and execute project tasks in a timely manner.
Develop specifications and plans, and coordination of complex installations.
In conjunction with Project Managers and team members: develop plans, tasks, milestone, resource needs and schedules. Track and reportg status and variances.
Conduct formal project reviews as requirements.
Provide coach, train and other assistance to peers.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:
Relevant bachelors degree or equivalent experience is required.
One (1) or more years experience defining server, storage, security and network device placement in a data center is required.
Basic knowledge of systems architecture, including LAN/WAN, telecommunications, servers, storage and firewalls is preferred.
Project management skills to complete small project plans to define team tasks against 30 to 120 day projects is preferred.
Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with Internal clients, IT management, IT staff and vendors.
Strong implementation focus.
