Provide technical expertise to Architect and Design DNS architectures to support Voice/Video/Data elements. Assist in transforming technical requirements into a detailed design. Be able to define requirements and interface with vendors on roadmaps for evolving the DNS architecture. Assist in defining metrics and capacity models to allow for scaling of the architecture to meet the companies growth needs. Limited travel and off-hours support may be required. Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with a 3+ years of experience with designing and managing DNS in an ISP, large-scale enterprise environment, or equivalent work experience in a Managed Hosting Service Provider organization. Have very good understanding of managing various types of DNS configurations (ex: DDNS, Spoof/walledgarden)
Experiences
IP Networking protocols and systems including DNS, DHCP, TFTP, IP, TCP, UDP, SNMP
BIND and/or other name server flavors
TSIG, DNSSEC
Cable modem technologies
Voice over IP technologies
Very good understanding of DNS resolver behaviors
IPv6 and the extensions for DNS to support IPv6
Strong understanding of Unix heavily weighted towards Solaris and LINUX
Reading and understanding DNS logs, cache dumps, stats etc
Programming skills in Perl, JavaScript, UNIX Shell Scripting and C, plus skills with web based embedding (HTML, PHP, etc.) desirable.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Outstanding interpersonal, oral, listening and written communication skills Ability to work in a team or individual contributor role
High level understanding of Internet routing protocols
High level understanding Load balancing
