DIRECTOR

The Director of Electronic Communications and Marketing will report to the Vice President for Communications and Marketing and be involved in the strategic planning of The University of Arizona Foundation’s marketing efforts and be responsible for developing and executing all electronic marketing of the UA Foundation.Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities include:
•Develop and implement a dynamically generated database-driven Foundation Web site that supports the Foundation’s marketing strategy
•Create and deliver a continuously updated, fresh and useful Foundation Web site
•Support and enhance the electronic marketing and communications efforts of The University of Arizona Foundation to advance the interests of the University
•Construct a Web site using Internet programming languages such as perl, php, javascript, css-based html and other advanced multi-media and secure server functions and technologies•Develop and maintain a large Web site SQL database using a varied selection of text, photos, video and sound clips
•Apply industry-leading technologies and practices to ensure the Foundation is a leader in using the Internet to advance the interests of the University
•Help develop and manage the strategic planning and implementation of the overall communications and marketing functions of the Foundation
•Work with the Director of Publications and Media Relations to ensure that the Foundation’s electronic communications and marketing integrates with the Foundation’s publications and public information
•Develop ongoing working relationships with Web managers, IT professionals and relevant committees within The University of Arizona and the Arizona Alumni Association to optimize the Foundation’s presence on their Web sites
•Monitor Web and other electronic marketing efforts of peer institutions and other corporations, for benchmarking purposes
•Develop and oversee the position-related budget and monitor expenditures
•Perform other related duties as assignedWork Environment:

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:•Bachelor’s degree
•Five (5) years of demonstrated Web site design and programming
•Solid computer skills, including experience with large SQL databases and Web-based computer languages, including perl, php, javascript and css-based HTML
•Experience with Web-hosting secure servers
•Experience with Web-posting packages
•Proficient writing skills, particularly writing for the WebPreferred Qualifications:•Bachelor’s degree in computer science
•Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a timely and effective manner
•Excellent communications skills
•Excellent interpersonal skills and team-building experience
•Demonstrated success in a similar position in a corporate or non-profit setting
•An appreciation of philanthropy
