If you're looking to join a pediatric institution as your employer of choice, you need to look at the best in the nation.The responsibilities of the Data Center Specialist I is to work within a 24x7 High-Availability multiple location Healthcare Data Center Operations environment. Will be the initial point of contact to begin the resolution process for incidents, requests and alerts received into the Data Centers. The Specialist is responsible for assisting in the daily operation of the enterprise hardware housed in the Data Centers and is a key contact between the user community and the technical and operational functions. This involves the monitoring of all computer systems for problems and following appropriate recovery actions when needed. In addition, the Specialist must be able to resolve or properly escalate non-recurring problems affecting the operation of the enterprise server environment on a timely basis.1. 24x7 Day-to-day operations and systems monitoring for Chops Data Centers
2. Handle and respond to service tickets following SOP’s
3. Elevate complex tickets that cannot be resolved at this level to the Senior Specialist or the appropriate Engineering team.
4. Follow escalation procedures to document and notify appropriate support staff, equipment vendor, or other contact and notifies management as appropriate.
5. Work with on-call staff, management, equipment vendors, or other appropriate contacts to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
6. Communicate production problems to affected users as appropriate.
7. Ensure daily check off lists and turnover logs, daily reports have been completed and communicate relevant information to following shifts.
8. Ensure tape management is followed according to SOP
9. Unpacking & racking of specified equipment
10. REQUIREMENTS
A+ Hardware and Operating System Technologies Certifications - Required. Valid drivers license - Required. High School diploma or equivalency - Required. Minimum 1 to 3 years experience in a Data Center operations environment - Required. Must possess good writing and oral communication skills. Performs basic diagnostics on a variety of software and hardware. Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows OS. Basic working knowledge of Help Desk systems and event-monitoring tools
Basic understanding of networking principles.
Display a basic working knowledge of Tape Library Administration. Familiar with system automation packages. Must be able to backfill for any shift as needed.
