Cognos Reportnet Administrator

Purpose: Our Financial Services client is looking for a Reportnet Administrator to join their Information Technology team in Chicago.
Day to day responsibilities include:
This position is responsible for configuration of the Reportnet servers and application.
- Insuring that all configuration parameters are properly set.
- Creating, modifying and deleting folders.
- Deploying reports, packages and queries from QA to production.
- Manage user access.
- Creating and assigning users, groups and roles on both QA and Production.
- Maintain all licensing.
- Monitoring and tuning the Reportnet servers for maximum performance.
- Scheduling and distributing production reports.
- Working with Cognos technical support to resolve bugs and performance issues.
- Working with the ReportNet Auditing database to develop reports on usage and performance.
Qualifications include:
- 5 Years of experience working in systems/application administration.
- 3 years of experience working with Microsoft SQL server
- 2 years of experience working with Reportnet.
- 2 Years of experience working with Data Warehouses.
- 2 Years of experience working with Financial Application.
- Capable of performing effectively in a team, or alone and unsupervised and the ability to learn
new applications quickly is imperative for the person in this position to succeed.
- Strong technical skills on Windows administration such as ODBC, scripting, (VBA, DOS), DNS, and
Active Directory.
- Understanding of Windows at the IP level.
- MCSE certification.
- Experience working with vendor based application running on Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP/DOS.
- Experience in financial applications.
- Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced
environment handling multiple tasks required.
- Good communication skill both verbal and written.
