Cisco Campus Network Administrator
DESCRIPTION: Implementing and configuring Cisco Catalyst switches in a multiple building campus environment. Under general direction, assists higher level Communications Analysts in the planning, design and implementation of data and/or telephony networks. Responsible for providing second level Tier 3 support to Tiers 1 and 2. Assists in troubleshooting WAN and/or telephony network problems. May participate in specific telecommunications projects. May assist in the evaluation and selection of telecommunications equipment.
KEY DUTIES:
Tier 3 support to TAC and Tier 2 for telecommunications problems.
Responsible for resolving and closing telecommunications-related trouble tickets.
Provides telecommunications systems administration.
Handles secondary support calls to Tier 3.
May participate in specific projects.
job Requirements
EDUCATION:
Computer Science, Math or Telecommunications degree or equivalent work experience.
JOB EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years of IT/telecommunications experience.
SPECIALIZED SKILLS: Good knowledge of data or voice telecommunications.
Strong analytical/troubleshooting skills. Good knowledge of telecommunication network design.
Good knowledge of telecommunications hardware/software.3-5 years experience designing and supporting a campus LAN environment using Cisco Catalyst 6500, 3750, and 2950 series switches.
Experience with Spanning Tree Protocol, VLANs, OSPF, ACL's, and Multicast required.
Experience supporting Wide Area and Wireless networks using Cisco ISR routers and Cisco wireless access points and controllers.
Experienced using CiscoWorks and network monitoring tools desired.
Good customer service, documentation, and change control skills.
