CIT Technology Specialist

Manage the evolution and security of all CIT Servers, CIT data networks/labs, and security devices. Support and facilitate CIT faculty and staff technology needs and/or requests and communicate the status of equipment and facilities in a timely manner. Manage, install and maintain all computers, computer images, peripherals, operating systems and utilities to ensure high reliability and customer satisfaction. Supervise CIT student workers and coordinate all information technology security efforts between Computer Technology Information Systems (CTIS) IT department technical staff and the CIT department. Perform other duties as assigned by the department head.

FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible For Overtime)

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field required. Four years experience in a combination of the following is required: Server 2003 or current version, UNIX environments, networking, operating systems, database installation/configuration, integration and implementation of server systems in a production environment. Experience in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Server, MySQL, and Citrix environments, GHOST, educational laboratory management, and desktop support is desired. Must have the ability to supervise, work in a team environment and frequently lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed. Must be available to be on call to work evenings and weekends as needed and carry a pager. CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) Certification, MS Server Certification and/or MS Engineer Certification is preferred.
