Department Description: Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) is an emerging technology introduced into Motorola’s infrastructure to provide real-time business process performance monitoring across the enterprise. A BAM Center of Excellence team has been established at Motorola to provide methodology, best practices, and expertise to support the adoption and implementation of BAM principles and technology, and to ensure that the adoption of BAM within Motorola is managed efficiently and follows a clear technology and maturity roadmap. The BAM Center of Excellence is part of an enterprise group that also provides key skills and leadership in the areas of EAI, B2B, BPM, EII and SOA.

Responsibilities/Expectations: Primary resource responsible for managing the BAM global service team which includes managing the vision, strategy and roadmap for technology and service adoption within Motorola. Must ensure BAM solutions are aligned with BAM technology principles, Center of Excellence standards, and enterprise target state architecture.

Responsible for defining, maintaining and improving the methodologies and processes necessary to ensure quality of service, re-use potential and supportability of the solutions. Accountable for customer satisfaction, customer relationship, quality, and on-time delivery of global BAM projects.

Manages a globally distributed team of technical architecture and development resources, with focus on addressing team and project interdependencies, resource needs, and escalations of issues and risks which affect quality of service.

Responsible for managing the vendor relationship, contract terms, and license requirements for the service, ensuring Motorola licenses the BAM product to projects according to contract terms, and submits payment to the vendor on-time.

Accountable for all BAM project level M15 – M11 activities including process and key performance indicator (KPI) analysis, high-level requirements gathering, high-level estimates, statements of work, and communication with mid- and senior-level management. BAM COE Lead must be prepared to manage activities within these Mgates, participate-in customer sessions and approve all deliverables within these gates.^^

Proficient knowledge of BAM principles, process performance management and automation

Expertise on how to implement BAM solutions to optimize long-term support requirements

Experienced with creation of Service Models including financial modeling scenarios and TCO analysis

Champions the vision of the service to the business, IT and stakeholders by clearly communicating the benefits and strategy

Experienced with service introduction activities and infusion into lines of business

Proven leadership and guidance expertise for resolving escalated issues impacting the service

Forward focused, continually finding opportunities to improve the user experience and service



Business Management Skills:

Manage financial recovery for solutions and services

Track and evaluate consulting practice performance

Manage Motorola and contractor resources including all on-boarding activities

Manage the vendor including relationship, performance feedback, service level agreements, product and roadmap feedback, contract and license maintenance, and participation in vendor customer councils.

- Possesses strong analytical and quantitative skills; can analyze complex business processes to isolate process improvement opportunities

- Expertise in process/sub-process workflow requirements analysis

- Deployment planning and management expertise

- Release management and CM



Enterprise Skills:

Enterprise Process Architecture knowledge

Technical understanding of webMethods EAI, B2B, and webservices development, automation and enterprise deployment experience

Portal integration knowledge

Solid understanding of the principles of Project Management to include project planning, execution principles and control mechanisms. Certification as a PMP is a major plus.

Experienced with MS Office applications

Good general technical knowledge of enterprise technical solutions with expert knowledge in BAM
