Assistant Category Manager

As the business owner, ACM will be involved in developing a 3-6 moth business plan that includes the strategy for the business which is further supported by financial. As an ACM, you will be responsible for independently presenting the strategy and financials through Quarterly Business Reviews, CPC and monthly forecasting.

In the support function, you will assist the Category Manager for the overall business plans including promotions, product selection, and on-line placement. Your specific functions include evaluation of current product selection with recommendations for extended assortment, improving attachment and creating promotions to improve overall business. As an ACM, you will work with other cross-functional teams to manage product transitions.

As an ACM, you will be responsible for managing product selection for our print catalog. Overall, the position requires you to work well with several cross functional areas including Corporate Merchandising.

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong passion for business analytics as you will be required to analyze and develop category level traffic, conversion, AOV budgets and be directly responsible for sales, margin, market share growth and attachment.

Independent monthly business report, weekly health check report and actions plan are part of the responsibility for the sub-category ownership and category support.

To be successful in this role, you should possess relevant experience in this field as well as a strong passion for business analytics. You should also have demonstrated strength in the following areas:

·At least 18 months of Merchandising/eCommerce experience required or previous position where candidate has spent a majority of time in a financial analysis function.
·Microsoft Office skills including (Word, Excel, Access - preferred -)
·Web savvy
·Negotiation skills
·Ability to interact with senior management and attend business meetings (CPC, QBR, Health Check) representing Circuit City Direct appropriately.
·Detail orientation
·Communication – of plans (tactical and strategic) to cross-functional team members, internal and external customers.
·Interpersonal Skills - Focuses on customer, builds relationships and respects others, manages conflicts.
·Analysis & Decision-Making – Thinks strategically, makes solid decisions based on thorough analysis. ACM will spend a significant amount of the time analyzing financial and providing data for improved promotions, transition management, consensus forecasting and market share growth.
·Planning & Organizing – Develops solid plans; manages team to plans.
·Action Orientation – Initiates improvements, insists on excellence and drives for results.
